You can unlock the framerate, there are 16 graphics settings available for tweaking, and the game can run on a variety of hardware. There are a few issues, however, as well as some signs of being a console port. There’s no option to adjust the field of view, and while the game nominally supports all resolutions, anything that’s not 16:9 aspect ratios gets letter boxing—black bars on the sides or top/bottom of the screen. Modding is a bit of a question mark—there’s no Steam Workshop support—but there are a few mods elsewhere that tweak aspects of the game, and there’s supposedly an ultra wide mod in the works.

Right now, the cards I’ve tested below can just about manage to run it smoothly at 1440 p, let alone anything else, so unless you’ve got multiple graphics cards at your disposal, I suspect 4K is going to be beyond the reach of most single-GPU PCs.
While the game can technically push its frame rate as high as your high refresh rate monitor allows for thanks to its unlocked setting, I’ve found that anything beyond 60 fps is a pretty big ask even for today’s beefiest graphics cards. As a result, 60 fps is the prime target here. After all, with the console versions locked at 30 fps, a higher frame rate is one of the chief reasons why you’d want to play Monster Hunter: World on PC as opposed to the boxes sitting underneath your TV

Accompanying the HD pack is a small but meaningful patch, adding a new TAA+FXAA anti-aliasing mode. While I need to test more, I feel it improved the look of MH:W’s transparency effects. There’s a few quality of life improvements too, like the Take All post-hunt option giving you an itemised list of all the things you took. There’s a new mouse targeting mode that should give more control over locking onto body parts, and camera control can now be bound to the keyboard. Lastly there’s a ‘Friends can join’ option when hosting a private game, making playing with pals easier.

I then set each option to the minimum allowed setting and tested performance again. Percentage increases are relative to the highest preset, and in a few cases performance goes down.

How to Install
- Download Monster Hunter World (part 1 to part 3) via the link above
- Put all parts into one folder
- Extract part 1, then the other parts will automatically be extracted
- Open the extracted folder, then mount the file [BAGAS31] MHW. iso
- Open the mounted drive, then run setup.exe
- Check “Copy contents of CODEX” (MANDATORY !!!)
- Click Install and wait for the installation to complete
- When done, run the game
- Have a nice play
